The “Promoting Capacity of CSOs & Local Authorities for Developing Afghan Communities” project is being implemented in Sar-e-Pul Center and Sancharak district of the said province with the main goal of an active and strong Afghan civil society is empowered to hold its local authorities accountable. On July 31, 2016, Empowerment Center for Women – ECW managed to conduct a training workshop on “Child Rights, Child Protection, UNCRC Convention on Child Rights”. The training was held for 30 members of youth groups in Sar-e-Pul province, out of who 22 were males and 8 were females. During the training, different topics such as history of child rights convention, child rights in Islam, four basic rights of child, emergency situation and its impact on children and several other relevant topics discussed in details. The aim behind conduction of this training was raising the knowledge and awareness level of the invitees over child rights and child-related issues. This project is being supported EU through Save Children financially.
