The project is designed to address the social, protection and educational needs of street working children in Kabul, Afghanistan. Promotion of child participation and child rights is a cross-cutting theme throughout the intervention. The purpose of this project is to deliver quality accelerated learning and psychosocial support and protection to vulnerable street-working children and integrate them into the government schools in Kabul City. Beside Education for children, ECW provides a series of other activities such as training workshops on child rights and child convention for parents and children, building self-confidence among children, carrying lobbying and advocacy, networking and celebration of students and teachers’ days.
Teachers’ Day is celebrated every on October 5 in Afghanistan. This day has been also celebrated in street working education center of ECW with presence of center’s students and teachers, ECW staff and donor representative.
A wide range of activities being performed on this special occasion, the students read poems, articles and made leaflet to appreciate all that the teachers have done for them.
The center’s staff, ECW staff and donor representative have also given their speeches to appreciate the hard work of teachers.
